Overview of Manaslu Circuit Trek 

 

Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the most popular trekking in Nepal. The trek around the eight highest mountain in the world, this trekking is less crowded trekking route of Nepal. The restricted area trek in Nepal; Manaslu is popular for its finest mountain views and the undiscovered cultures and the traditions of the local people. The Tibetan influenced cultures and the customs have given Manaslu circuit the name of trekking in Tibet of Nepal. The superb landscapes and the vibrant local villages are other attractions of the trekking. The inclusion of Larkye La pass- one of the challenging Himalayan high passes adds the x-factor on the trekking. Like other trekking, Manaslu trek is also a teahouse type trekking. Due to the smaller number of tourists in the route, there are very few teahouses along the way.

 

To trek Manaslu, special permits are required. It is also mandatory to take a government licensed trekking guide for the trek. Basically, three major permits are needed for Manaslu circuit trekking; the required permits for the trek are restricted area permits, ACAP and MCAP permit. The permit for the trek is needed to issue in Kathmandu at Nepal tourism board and Nepal Immigration respectively. The best season to trek Manaslu is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). Trekking Manaslu in the months of winter (December to February) is doable. Although trekking Manaslu in the months of monsoon (June to August) may not be an ideal choice.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International airport, one of our representatives will welcome you and will help you to transfer to the hotel. In your free time, you can take a good rest in your hotel.

After breakfast, you will be driving to Soti Khola. The drive is interesting as it goes through the small local settlements. It also offers to witness the traditional way of farming in Nepal. In Soti Khola, you will be staying overnight at the local teahouse.

The route to Soti Khola to Machha Khola is via the Budi Gandaki bridge. Along the way, you will get the chance to explore the local villages and will also allow you to cross the suspension bridge on Budhi Gandaki of Nepal. Machha Khola is a small local settlement where you can witness the local life and the living style.

The route from Machha Khola is a gentle walk through the several local villages. Along the way, you visit a natural hot spring place. You can take a relaxing hot bath on the natural hot spring pond. Then the walk through the jungle to reach Jagat.

Grab the early morning breakfast, the trek resumes. The route from Jagat to Pewa is nice and gentle. The Buddhist prayer flags and several Buddhist monasteries are found on the way. The exploration of Buddhist monasteries is truly amazing. The landscapes and vegetation is also very interesting.

The route to Pewa to Namrung the through the jungle where you have the chance to encounter the wildlife including the white-faced monkeys. The route includes the landslide risk areas so we suggest you to follow your guide instructions properly. Upon reaching Namrung, you can collect beautiful views of mountains and also get the chance to explore the local village.

The route from Namrung to Lho is exciting. The route offers to collect the best views of Mount Manaslu. Lho village is a wonderful local settlement influenced by Tibetan cultures and traditions. The Tibetan look-alike lifestyle and the dresses are wonderful. Stunning views of Manaslu (8163m) and Manaslu North (7157m) can be collected from Lho village. Enjoy the best views.

The trek from Lho to Samghon is about four to five hours trekking. The route consists of Buddhist monasteries and the mani walls. The prayer flags spread peace and love all the way. The fantastic views Manaslu mountain. Samaghaon is one of the best places in the route for the Manaslu mountain views. Enjoy the best views.

Resume the trek after breakfast. The route consists of Yak pastures and the Mani walls. The walk through the barren lands with the fabulous views of mountains and the supreme landscapes. Samdo is a wonderful village in the lap of the Himalayas. Collect the best views and in the evening the sunset looks amazing.

The rest day focuses to get acclimatize. You can choose the side trips to Nepal Tibet border. You can also get the chance to the great picture of Samdo Glacier from the ridge.

From Samdo, you will trek further to Dharmashala today. The route to Dharmashala is gentle and some uphill is connected. Dharmashala itself is a beautiful village. The amazing mountain views and the wonderful landscapes are the major attractions of today's route.

Start early as today is a long day. The Lakye Pass is one of the challenging and exciting Himalayan passes. The passes offer superb views of the Himalayas. We suggest you follow your guide instructions during the cross. After crossing the Larkye pass; you will then further trek to Bhimthang for the overnight.

From Bhimthang, you will further trek down to Tal today. The route from Bhimthang to Tal gets easier as you are now coming down to the lower elevation. The landscapes and the local villages are the major attractions of the day.

From Tal, today you will be taking the drive back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you can do some last-minute shopping.
